Love Me Tether

Whoa, this must be the first time I have no idea what to blog about. So expect severe randomness and a post with different subjects scattered about.

I will be going on a vacation in the March holidays. From Monday to Friday, so that reduces me to only 4 days at home. Worry not, I got a laptop just in time for this dilemma. It's not bad, but I am yet to have time to customize it. It can detect my phone, so maybe I'll start using it as my main blogging medium from now on. IIRC, I am going to Guangzhou, China on Singapore Airlines. This marks my first time on a Singapore Airlines plane! If there's anything confirmed, it's that I will be bringing my DS and the laptop (mainly becuase my father needs it for his job - there, that's it ... In the future, I will keep myself out of work stuff when on vacation with family members). I have been pondering about whether I should bring my PS2 along or not. I mean, 4 days is too short, seriously. Not to mention I can't stay up late on the last Sunday. There are a few games that is already confirmed that Williew will resume playing - Odin Sphere (after a sickly hiatus), Silent Hill Origins (practically too scared at the first save point to play any further when I first got it) and of course, my dear P4. Currently I am focusing more on my DS games, since the PS2 has hardly any (good) new releases anymore and the fact that the DS has plenty of games that are just what I dig. I use a R4 card, and my games are mostly RPGs and Adventures with a single Horror. Games that are put on a break are cut-and-pasted over to my computer to save space. Those I am taking a break from include Final Fantasy III & IV, Exit DS and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker.

Talking about DS games, I am yet again into another JP game. I mean, the US release is due June 23rd, I believe, so am I expected to wait that long when the game's so good? The game I am hinting is ... Megami Ibunroku Devil Survivor, which will of course be released as SMT: Devil Survivor.

Yeah, I know the main cast suspiciously resembles the P3 cast, especially the main trio (MCs, Yuzu & Yukari, Atsuro & Junpei). The plot involves a 7-day survival like in TWEWY, just that this one is set in the whole of Tokyo and not Shibuya. Anyway, the characters have gadgets called COMPs which resemble the DS physically. Atsuro, the whiz kid (who somehow for some weird contradictory reason has low MAG growth but focuses on STR and END) just happened to hack into a folder in the COMP which releases the first three demons the protagonists have to fight. Upon victory, they become party members. The COMP can thereby be used to receive mails from others, enter auctions to purchase new demons, view character profiles, perform demon fusion, save data and change the game settings. If my memory serves me dutifully, this should be the first SRPG SMT game. When attacking, the screen experiences a transition to a battlefield in first-person view where allies and foes dish out attacks. It's pretty cool, and I will still grab the US release when it's out. The game features multiple endings, so I guess it can last till I get the US release.

Let's just say that the DS really has awesome games. Compared to the PSP, the DS falls behind in term of graphics and sound, but makes up with more quality games. I have thought of getting the PSP ... but heck, that may take a few more years. I really want to concentrate on my writing competitions since there is prize money to be won, but I can't really focus with all the school projects hogging me down. Can the Education Ministry please explain the use of these kerja kursus-es we are doing? Because if there's one thing I know for certain about it is that it severely takes up large chunks of our valuable time and causes unnecessary stress. I have really been thinking about ditching everything and focus on my short story, which I haven't even started and the deadline's due end of next month. The one thing pulling me back is whether or not I can actually win - if I can't win the prize money, it's really not worth it, and the story is not going to be returned. Argh, I am currently torn between my schoolwork and my own dreams. If I can request a personal special ability, I'd choose the power to manipulate time and space. I'd just freeze time and finish everything, because it just always seems that I must have SOMETHING to be finished, sheesh. Personally of course, I have not the slightest intention to be doing my projects. Then again, it's not like people care what I want. Thankfully, this year's PK project is much smoother, thanks to Mr Jeffrey who doesn't reject every single piece of my work. It actually gives me the motivation to finish quick. I am worried about the woodwork, because I heard he's quite strict on that part and I suck doing woodwork. *sigh* But no worries, no matter how strong the gale and blinding the lightning, Williew will always pull through.

Have you guys heard of the recent petitions in West Malaysia? The petitions against PPSMI - teaching Science and Mathematics in English. According to recent news, the higher-ups of those petitions think that people learn better in BM and it is our national language. I will not try to sound biased with my opinions. The main point is the blatant injustice in their claims. They practically ruled out people who learn better in English. As a student, I find English easier to understand than BM. BM isn't too bad for me, but when compared I really find English to be much easier to understand. While this may be unrelated, I prefer writing English essays, mainly because people prefers reading them and even teachers appreciate them. Whenever I write fictional BM essays, I never get high marks from teachers. They always complain that I drag things around (exactly what my mother remarks - berleter-leter). To top things off, starting next year it is fully factual for us. It is as if they are trying their best to make BM boring. Well, I am never really against factuals - I sometimes write non-fictionals myself, but every single factual BM topic is so freaking CLICHED every year and keeps getting recycled that I'm nigh bored dead. They could have made it more fun by asking us to write philosophical ones - on second thoughts, no, because BM teachers also do not like that (last year I did 'Death' as my oral speech topic in Ms Siti's class and obviously the reaction wasn't very convincing). Factual English essays are fun, you get to stuff in lots of words and quotings. Not to mention I really love musing with things. Now, back to the main topic. I think those petitioners are deliberately trying to stall us from grasping the international language (English) because probably they themselves aren't so good with it so they are jealous that we get to be more knowledgeable than they are. Just my opinions. If they have so much time to burn through, they might as well petition to ban kerja kursus instead. If we learn Science and Maths in BM, we surely can't do very well overseas. I mean, the rest of the subjects are already in BM! Why are they so selfish!? They should be thankful that we students don't go on strike asking for all the other subjects to be taught in English! Get real - we will really only need BM that much if we plan to never modernize and jsut stay the way we are in this sheltered place called Malaysia that is quite the hypocrite - makes up urbanization challenges to be achieved but at the same time tries to slow doen progress. You're such a jerk, Malaysia. What disappoints me most is that the petitions even got the support of A. Samad Said - I expected him to be quite wise. Pity, he chose to side against English.

It's, like, I have work to do, so, like, I gotta bounce. BTW, I never knew this is how bimboes talk, I am just imitating the way Ini Miney talks in PW: JFA.

Guilty As Charged

Note: This post's PTC is NOT referring to the song of the Gym Class Heroes - Estelle collaboration. It's something else and after reading the hint in the PTC section I bet Dawn can get the answer.

Today was ... fun, I suppose. Especially BM and English, yesh. The only thing that made me unhappy was Scouts late in afternoon. Ugh, let me start with BM. The axis upon which the whole BM class revolved on was Jonathan himself. So I bet today's BM class was exclusive for 3A ^_^. Anyway, for Johnny's sake, Mr Danny went over last year's Pantun Perpisahan, this time with emotion. Anyway, in the second half of the lesson, Jon-kun got to express all his favorite memories of everyone. Here's the list:
1. Janna: For always hitting him in elementary school.
2. Elisa: For being manly.
3. Joel: For being pai kia.
4. Sharon: For being sarcastic.
5. Edbert: For being a nice friend, for having hair that can never be straightened and for liking someone (*cough* Top student in 3A = ? *cough*).
6. Philemon: For his (Phil's) hair.
7. Jocelyn: For being a good friend (so he says ...).
8. Jack: For being extremely annoying.
9. Susan: For being one of his main homework-copying suppliers.
10. Agnes: For lending him homework to copy but showing a mean face.
11. Daryl: For his angry expression.
12. Jordan: For Jordan's muffins.
13. Alfred: (uh ... bummer, I don't remember)
14. Williew: For not being able to use simple English, for being funny (Sexy beam SHOOT-OUT! Yes, this is from Silent Hill 3) and for ... being huggable?
15. James: For lending stationery that end up lost (according to James, 20 pens missing thus far).
16. Dawn: For being his best friend.
17. Yi Yong: For being someone he can endlessly argue with (methinks).
18. Jessy: For being nice and yet another supplier.
19. Shahiran: (eh ...)
20. Yiew Chiew: For having fair skin.
21.  Karen: For being a good friend.
22. Lester: For being cool.
23. Michael: For his extraordinary unique actions.
24. Vincent: For looking like a drug addict.
25. Derrick: For being rich.
26. Brandon: For being holy and ... horny? Weird combination, but whatever.
27. Fira: For making him cupcakes.
28. Adrenne: For being so popular.
See, like, my EHEM Memory (to make it shorter, let's just use EHEMM) is 98% accurate? To rack up the suspense, I am still not going to talk about it. Heh.

For English, we got to play a vocabulary game after quickly finishing our work. Well, the victory condition is to have the most team members by the end of the game. Anyway, teams of 3 - 4 people need to come up with an extremely difficult word and answer questions from other teams that may lead to the word. I used 'holocaust' as my trump card but I didn't suspect Sharon'd know. The other word in my mind was 'laceration', which I really should have used. Well, anyway, if you manage to guess a team's word, you can recruit one of its members. Well, I got dragged into Sharon's team, but later I won another new member, Derrick by bulls-eyeing his team's easy word, 'zephyr' ... they said they learned it from Pokemon. Ah, Falkner's Zephyr Badge. I never got to play the Kanto and Johto games, but yup, I do my research. I learned it much earlier from Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (was it 2?) on the PSX. I was already playing that in kindergarten, haha. These days I'm too lazy to play platformers
anymore ... sigh ... well it's not my fault. As you can see, ex-quality-platformers are now doing it awfully in the market ... series like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. Shame, when I really liked them back on the PSX.

Anyways ... argh Scouts Club is infuriating! Last year I submitted the form to join Scouts since most of the boys in class said they'll join. Jerks, all of them. I am the sole 3A boy. The rest of the Form 3s just deemed me invisible and I'm reduced to joining the ranks of those International Noises. Okay, most of the team are normal people. Then, we just must have a bunch of freaks. Actually, just two boys. They are so zetta annoying! One says stuff like, "My father is a scout. My uncle is a scout. My grandfather is a scout." During practical sessions, he always runs off his accomplice who is equally annoying to do something else. Can someone kick them out? Please? For my heart's sake, as I can't bear too many Noises? Anyway, they are just ... childish, arrogant, annoying, and makes me want to beat
them to a bloody pulp. Finally, FINALLY, Mr Sinclair reprimanded the freaks today. I wish they will keep up with their antics until finally they are officially OUT. Out, I say. There's another jerk in my team. He's
practically the loser of the group, and tries to stick around the aforementioned freaks (because freaks just attract more freaks) but still gets rejected. So he was sitting on one of the Lecture Theater benches alone, and I tried to be friendly and moved up to his row. "Um, can you go back?" That's it. I give up trying to get to know Noises. If there's something else I want to mention, it's that one of those freaks (I am mentioning the name wide because evil people need to be fully exposed) - Etienne Goh from the International School stepped on the LT bench he's sitting on. I so wished that I was a prefect and I can just ... wait, offence slips don't work on people from other schools huh? Grr ... GRR! I didn't get to be a prefect in my elementary years, so this time I really wish to get to don the tie! I've never worn a tie before! And anyways, prefects are envoys of supreme justice! As a keen observer, I know the best spots to catch all the offenders ... because my motto is 'Justice For All'. Well, of course, I will do some reasoning ... but most of the time, I don't see why the Noises' reasons are valid at all. Still, I won't land a verdict without reasoning, of course. That is justice! Sadly, Eugene chose me as his Temperance instead of Justice. But nevermind, that still fits.

Tomorrow may be the last time I see Jon-kun. Kufufufu. I am expecting fun in classes tomorrow.

Me Time Is Free Time

Phew - Mr Danny finally said that he's putting a full stop to this thing. I always love major incidents in my life like this one - I can rank up on my The Fool Social Link! Well, The Fool is supposed to be the self in its growing period. So I guess I learned a thing or two from this, and thus grew a rank! I mean, this is reality. There's no Midnight Channel or Dark Hour, so we gotta, like, grow from these in-life travails. I guess ... um ... my blog can be back to normal now? My point is, constant serious posts are not really my cup of tea. Or my cup of coffee, since I prefer coffee over tea. Tea is luxurious and elegant, but coffee is what I favor for the noir feeling it imbues. I love Boss coffee, exclusive from Suntory. Um, does Williew ever turn down Japanese products? Heh, I guess not. Talking about Japanese culture, let me introduce free schools to my Malaysian readers who are in the dark.

Technically, free schools do not originate from Japan. Nevertheless, there are quite aplenty in Japan. Free schools are schools for people of all ages who for some reason of their own are unable to attend normal schools. They are not necessarily people with special needs. They may be NEETs (Not currently engaged in Education, Employment or Training), social outcasts, asocials, or traumatized of education. The education system varies depending on the country the free school is in. Classes are all optional. Students have the liberty to choose whether or not to attend. Free schools focus on building all the inner qualities of their pupils. Once the students are back on track, they can choose to go back to normal schools or stay.
Public examinations are still available, of course. There are manga libraries, video games and such in free schools (in Japanese ones, at least). I've been reading two shoujo series that both focus on life in free schools: Cat Street and The Wandering Class. Cat Street is more popular but the latter's more into the free school thing. If there's one thing I like about shoujo manga, it's that I get to take a break from all those battle-oriented shonen manga and get more self-development. I don't think that shoujo manga is exclusive for girls - that's sexual discrimination. It's the same, the other way round. There are plenty of girls who are into shonen. Most of the Noise where I live in are just ignorant (Noise, of course, refers to humans I see as foolishly foolish foolhardy fools who do foolishly foolish foolhardy acts in this world that should be foolproof ... and yes I know I am speaking like Franziska von Karma). Anyways, while chasing a runaway problem student, the main character who is a teacher at Kirihito Gakuen (the free school) stops to talk with the director mid-chase. The director gave a very insightful description of free schools during the talk:
D: Can I ask you one thing?
T: Fo sho.
D: Am I a guy from the lower-class?
T: Huh? What're you talking about? Of course you're from the higher-class!
D: Really?
T: Why do you ask me that?
D: Because of what you said. Last time I was also a school dropout (the runaway's a dropout).
T: What!? But you're a doctor (he's both the school director and a doctor) right?
D: Yup. I didn't go to high school (for all the ignorant Noise, your Forms 1, 2 and 3 are junior high grades, yeesh, so stop saying 'high school'!). But I did the entrance exams and made it to university. Because your education was complete, and you are are surrounded by the same type of people, you must have been in the dark ... that in this world, there are many people who can't reach their destination directly, but stop somewhere first. Even though for those who see from afar they look like they're lost, actually that's an important moment for them. When they decide to return to return to mainstream, they can leave Kirihito Gakuen. So isn't it good that there's at least one school that reach out to them and say, "Feel free to linger around first."?

I felt really bewitched by that speech. If there were free schools around, I would definitely study there. The school standards doesn't matter - you really just need that moment of tranquility in life and recuperate. You gather yourself together, and go back out to the battlefield. So isn't AMGC (Anime Manga Game Cosplay) beneficial for us? Schools may teach us academic stuff, but AMGC teaches me both academic and personal things. I grow a lot from AMGC, while there's really only growth in knowledge and physique while in school. Last year, a lot of the boys have problems understanding 'mode' in Maths. But even in elementary school
I already know what modes are, since the Indonesian translation of the Doraemon manga used the term once to replace 'trends'. So last year I immediately knew that mode is used in the context of trend, like the trend of certain statistics, so it really helped me to understand. Due to my EHEM (Evil Housing Estate Manager) Memory, I can remember all those important things in AMGC, so it's no big deal. Of course, I will explain what EHEM Memory is. Probably in the next post.
This time I feel too lazy to make a long post, so I'll end here.

p/s: I translated the dialogue from Indonesian, which  was translated from Japanese! I did mention I bought a whole box of tankobons while in Jakarta, right? And Michael asked me about my desktop wallpaper, so here it is:

TWEWY, the characters featured are Beat, Rhyme, Shiki, Neku and Joshua; clockwise from top.

Cornered Rat Bites Cat

I am pulling back all my words against Ms Connie. For some reason, she had a change of heart and became a really nice person suddenly. She even pulled a joke yesterday, which was so unexpected we didn't even get to laugh. Personally, I really feel like deleting that post that resulted in quite a controvery - not. More like a fuss.

On Mr Danny's side of things though, um, I've done all I can Phil, so please forgive me if I am unable to apologize directly. Because you should know that I am unable to speak to adults with ease. The gap between adults and kids was explored in Wild Arms: The 4th Detonator. My mindset is like those of Jude Maverick's, Yulie Athreide's, Arnaud G. Vasquez's and Raquel Applegate's - people who have been constantly betrayed by adults. I don't want to confront Mr Danny only to be flamed. I don't think and can ever fully trust adults. You have proof, Phil, that he'll forgive me? I already stated clearly that I don't need his forgiveness. He can bear a grudge against me, spread news about me among the teachers, or even sue me. I mean, those ARE his rights. At least I know that I have realized that I hurt him, regretted doing so, and apologized openly. I am never good speaking in person - you can ask Sharon, I can talk about more stuff and she understands better through chatting. If you guys are really mad at me for hurting your beloved Mr Danny, fine, I'll try to find an opening and say sorry. I don't expect to be friends with him, just student-teacher is a good enough mutual relationship. I still physically punish myself to avoid from falling asleep so I won't hurt him further. His implication of me hurting him is enough for me to use Edbert as my voice in BM class. If I really have something personal against him, I might as well ditch everything he teaches and do my essays in his classes instead. I still have the MPH-Alliance Bank and the Scholastic. And If I actually manage to win there's prize money. The former competition especially has sufficient enough prize money to net me one or two of the 7th-generation home consoles. But it proves that I really only foolishly offended him on impulse without further consideration. If he thinks this is all a duri dalam daging, I am thinking that this is a pedang dalam sanubari or a pelayaran di atas bahtera kesedihan, because I have to deal with my father at home too. I know the word hedonistic because I am trying my best to be hedonistic outside (this is a white lie, I learnt the word from Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2), since obviosuly I am internally more pessimistic than I really am optimistic. Um, sometimes I don't really know myself. Am I really this bitter and nihilistic? I
guess it's only at school. When with people I can actually relate to, it never feels better to be able to act like a kid. But then again, I still have these negative thoughts even when outside school. We are supposed to pursue our true self ... but it's so hard when you can't even identify your true self. Once you create too many masks for the self, the original persona is at the risk of being buried eternally. Last year after finishing P4 on the 21st of August at 5 a.m., I pondered a bit about my real identity. Who am I? Urk ... I feel faint.

The school's badminton competition is held during the March holidays, so I can't join, as I will be in China for that one whole week. I will have my DS there with me, which is good; but the very knowledge that my father's there and my PS2's not there and there's no badminton makes me feel uneasy. If my father's there, Williew-haters can rest assured that I won't get a tranquil holiday. If my PS2's not there, that means I will practically be wasting holiday time without getting to play. No badminton equals possibly nil exercise. Ergo, I can expect an increase in body mass after the vacation. But I do so love going to new places, and though I've been to China before, it was seriously eons ago and I need new memories of that place to compensate the faded memories. Talking about badminton, Mynci's being a very good coach. Aside from Bike Stryker, we have other programs:

1. Speedy Cat
If you play TWEWY, you should know that Speedy Cat is a set of 3 special Pins (Righty Cat, Brainy Cat and Lefty Cat) of the Gatito brand. Well, the meaning here is emphasized on the words 'Speedy', 'Righty' and 'Lefty'. If I'm on the left side of the road, Mynci will deliberately direct his receive towards the
far right, and vice versa. Ergo, I have to move fast, really fast. That's 'Speedy', as this training is mainly to develop speed. I gave the name, for obviously Mynci doesn't even know about TWEWY.

2. Scales of Justice/Libra/Balance
I haven't decided on the name in fact. Personally I like the first. Mynci's with Balance. All we have to do is to keep passing the shuttlecock back and forth. Sounds simple and all, but ... nope. This training program develops a few stuff:

(a) Accuracy

It is only natural to feel increasing anxiety as the shuttlecock is passed around and the number of hits rack up. If you can't focus, you will easily miss the shuttlecock. And with focus comes accuracy. Accuracy is also tempered in a way that we will need to try hitting Drive As (Drive Aerial, basically high shots) as it will be easier for the partner to receive. I tend to screw up and do Drive Cs (Drive Cataclysm, low shots) or even Smashes, so this is good to train one to know what Drive to use when faced with certain situations. The other Drive is Drive B (Drive Body, middle shots). Of course, Drive Cs are rendered useless in formal courts with nets.

(b) Control
I'm running out of time so I'll make this short. For offensive players like me, we need to learn to suppress our strength. Using too much force will end up ruining the tempo.

(c) Synchronization
Good if you are playing Doubles. Here you will learn to trust your partner and know his strengths,
weaknesses and personal tempo. Trust is important, especially for those like me. I tend to go for
the ball all the time even when in Doubles, so when doing Balance on the street, I must not try to
traverse the road bumper (that is the border) and hit the shuttlecock for Mynci. I will need to believe
in him. Once you know his weaknesses, you can try to complement him with your own abilities
in matches.

Like, I gotta catch the Midnight Reading Express?

Limpid Luster

My PS2 is no longer by my side (for now) ... but my DS is! I ain't very sure if I mentioned this on my blog yet, but in the holidays my aunt bought me a NDS Lite. Onyx color with crystal casing! I've been thinking of starting a separate blog that focuses on gaming soon, like MKBK that's for writing and books, so that I won't irritate non-gamers reading this blog. I love the Phoenix Wright series. But since Apollo Justice has now taken over, I think I'll just call the series Ace Attorney from now on. Yeah, it was the inspiration for the 'Anticonformity' post. Trauma Center is interesting at first, but it gets more insanely difficult by every surgery, and sometimes I feel like strangling Angie Thompson. I mean, she's the
nurse, but she hardly helps! I hate her smirk! I hate her cynicism! She might as well be named Devie Thompson!
I played the DS remake of FFIV. One word. Divine. FFIV was the first Final Fantasy I ever played, back on the PSX. It was what propelled me deep into the realms of RPG and Final Fantasy itself. It's my 3rd favorite FF, after IX and X. XII was very fun, but it's really hard to connect to the characters, especially Vaan and Penelo, who both have little to no role at all. Well, they did, in the direct sequel, Revenant Wings. The developers tossed Ashe and Basch aside instead. Well, I don't mind Basch being outcasted. But I love Ashe! My beloved Ashie-poo! Oops, off-topic. Anyways, playing FFIV again brings back a lot of memories, seriously. One couldn't
imagine how much awe the opening instilled in me. Starting from the scene featuring Yang, man, the old IV theme plays once again! The graphics are lustrous. Totally. IV got just what it deserved. An awesome remake, that's what. It is also on the DS that I first played FFIII, completing my collection of all the numbered FFs, with the exception of XI, which is a MMORPG. Pokemon Diamond is excellent. It's been long since Emerald. But now that I think about it, maybe I should have waited for Platinum instead of buying Diamond. My main team consists of Pierre (my Prinplup), Asterysque (Staravia), Krycon (Kricketune), Murina (Murkrow), Donald (Psyduck) and Luxor (Luxio). For reserves I have a Zubat and a Ponyta. I think it's obvious why I have a Psyduck when I already have Prinplup who's more superior as a Water Pokemon. Well, I use Donald mainly for Psychic moves, and since he's a Water-type, he won't get hit by weaknesses Psychic-types would normally have, making him quite useful against certain Pokemons who counterbalance Psychic. Advance Wars: Days of Ruin serves as compensation for time being until Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon is released in the US. I like the change of mood and atmosphere from previous Advance Wars titles, and I definitely love the art. Now for the Top 2! The runner-up is ... Hotel Dusk: Room 215! The rotoscoping style proves more than superb, and the designs are win material. The plot itself's character-heavy, and I really like that. Actually, I've even imitated some of the characters' animations, especially Kyle's and Dunning's!

The champion's TWEWY, no doubt. I mean, The World Ends With You. It's a modern-day ARPG that combines the real and the surreal just like P3 and P4 (P3 especially, P4 takes more of the retro style) ... with the one difference that both the Persona titles aren't ARPGs. The soundtrack is kickass, and the cutting-edge character designs are just what expected from Tetsuya Nomura and Gen Kobayashi. Especially Nomura-sensei, whom I garner as the father of Kingdom Hearts. In a way. I mean, he is the director after all. Let's just say that TWEWY is awesome. The battle system (Stride Cross Battle System) is slick and fast-paced, contrary to the claim of many that combat is difficult to grasp for beginners. Now to reach the climax of CRPG, Square Enix and Atlus just have to combine elements of Persona and TWEWY together, and voila - a game where you can shop for threads, swags, food, do socializing and battle Shadows/Noise! Okay, I think I'm done with my gaming part.

Hmm, finally I got reprimanded for sleeping in class. It really is my first time. It's by Mr Danny. I am now actually wishing that teachers ARE reading my blog, because there's some explaining to be done. Okay, let's
say I just have this something called the WCSD (Wilson's Chronic Slumberland Disease). No kidding. I contracted sometime during the first half of 2008, and it's still with me. I think there was a period of time last year during which I just worked my ass off and never got enough sleep for months starting then. Seriously, I've never slept in class the entire 7th grade. Before, I will only feel asleep when I'm at home doing homework. But this is starting to go a tad bit too far. I think. Now about every single day I am yawning continuously, even if I just got a fresh shower straight after waking up. My mind will, at random times, commence a 'shutdown' period while in school. It matters not if I'm having a class that I like or not. At school, my mind will reboot after about 15
minutes. At tuition, it can take up to 30 minutes. Both of Sensei's guesses were horribly wrong. He wasn't boring, and I didn't pull and all-nighter the previous night either. It's something that seriously burdens me. Especially when I start feeling drowsy suddenly, there's no escaping slumber if it's a 2-period class. I tried taking mints, pinching myself, drinking water, washing my eyes, slapping myself and all that, but everything WOULDN'T work. It's a very agonizing process before the sleep. I need to try all my might to resist , just to be defeated. Again and again. During that 'shutdown' period, I will only respond to my name and no other word.
To wake me up, either call me or just do it physically. Unless anyone does any of that, I will need to wait until my mind recovers. After rebooting, I will feel extremely refreshed - but the feeling will only last a few hours. Sometimes it's less than one. I don't want to sleep either, but I cannot stop the 'shutdown'. There is a way. You either present me with a test, an exam or let me walk around. But there's obviously no way am I going to abruptly shoot up in the middle of a lesson to start pacing around. Starting last year, I've also starting dozing off in tuition classes. I can't believe it even happened in Science tuition, since it's one of my favorite subjects. The shutdown isn't a totally sleeping either ... I'm just about 85% unconscious. I
think I am able to see extremely obscured images and just that. I can also still feel slight wrath at my own failure in resisting. Sometimes I can move around for a few seconds, usually to pick up a pen that fell
from my limp hand or something else. Anyways it's very tough for me. It even happens when I am doing things I LOVE, like gaming. Before 2008, I am almost always immediately revitalized when I get my hands on the controllers, but now when I grab hold of them I will instantly let out a heavy yawn. I hate it. I actually fall asleep while gaming now, can you believe it!? Even with a high volume turned on! But at home it's more manageable as I have plastic pegs to clip myself up with and ice packs to place on my body without any cover. At home I can also give myself slaps or punches at full blast, unlike at school. Thinking about either QQ or Willie DOES NOT help. At all. Both people motivate me a lot, but still can't help me out when WCSD strikes. So please pity me, dear teachers, and Edbert, please do wake me up. I appreciate
you wanting to net me more rest but it can't be helped. No wonder Sharon said that my eyes are deep. I don't have no rings 'round my eyes, but they sure seem sunken alright. I'm a tired person. I've never really told my parents to get my dilemma diagnosed ... since if there's actually something wrong with me, my father'd blame it on my mom and curse non-stop about how she failed to take care of me. All that bull. When living with my father, DON'T GET SICK. Instead of sympathizing and caring for you, he'll scold you for getting sick. Oh, but when he's sick, be his caretaker, please. Whenever I get stuff like high fever or the likes, only my mother will stay by my side.

I still have so much to blog about, but it's like, real late, and I need my 4th shower for today before I go to bed (translation: read in bed).

Borderline Of Madness

Gah - school. Horrible day, I must admit. First things off, I mustered up the courage to greet a total stranger, just to receive cold shoulders in return. Hey, what's the deal? Oh, sure, I'm not cool enough to greet you, or something. Whatever, have it your way, and please don't hope me to be too friendly later in the year.

I tried to think of school as something fun. I even stayed behind in the canteen to chat even when I've finished my lunch. In return, a bunch of lowlives spilled sauce on me. Oh, great. Yeah, so I'm supposed to hold in everything, dipshits? All you can do is hand me a pack of tissues. Oh well, I never expect them to wash my clothes.
Lowlives will never understand because they are self-centered selfish brats who have washing machines. I can't get the stains off. Well, the lowlives are too rich for their own good they won't buy you back another set of uniform, so never expect compensation from the low and filthy. To add insult to injury, one of the lowlives managed to LAUGH, deary me! Oh my, isn't that funny? Well, it's as Naoki Konishi said - strangers'll be strangers. They'd be dying to see bad stuff
happen. Only in this sense it should be 'lowlives'll be lowlives'.

I know I don't sound like how I usually do ... but! I am a shadow! The true self! And I know I just quoted that! But I'm just being true to myself ...
I'm sick of being some stress ball or an anger-absorbent thing. I'm tired of trying to be so nice when I'm being treated like shit. Persona 4's liberal in speech, why shouldn't I? Stop freakin' take advantage of me! What!?
Am I supposed to have limitless patience that I will never burst!? Well sorry, 'cos I ain't as great as you all suckers imagined! I'm also fed up with all my efforts underappreciated! The teacher asked something, so I
answered because you all airheads don't know the answer! But just because I don't shout the answer, you can steal away my credit like it was nothing. And the deaf teachers. Excuse me!? I spent so much time with RPGs! Am I supposed to
be one of the airheads who don't know the answer!? What, I'm an airhead of the same level!? It's as if all my strategizing in games were ridiculed at! Whoa, so, like, you have the right to say that school was bad for you later!? Heck yeah, you do. Finally, at home - my father! Without the freaking slightest bit of understanding, he started scolding me for being on the Internet. It's not like there's anything for me to study! I'm much much better than scum who watch porn on the net or those idiots who go out. I'm doing R-E-S-E-A-R-C-H, freak! That's right, people - here you see the REAL Wilson, who has accepted his true self - he hates
people, he hates his efforts being wasted, he loathes being misunderstood! His true feelings is that he's bitter about the world! What's so good about going to school!? You don't even feel secure! You get bullied like shit, it's much better staying home during the holidays! Edbert asked me how come constant gaming doesn't bore me. Of course it doesn't! It's so nice to feel the warmth within games! You don't know how much emotion I poured into them! They don't diss you. They don't take advantage of you. Trying to be nice to experience fun school days!? Screw that! They don't care if you're nice! In the end, I'm just ... a freaking disgusting lameass pig, okay!? I'm a stepping stone! A mere pawn! I ain't no Genie! Ain't no Room 215! In the end, the world will just leave me behind ...

Well ... I finally said it. I finally accepted my true self. It feels so refreshing. It's that one part inside me I've been rejecting so far, trying to keep to the opinion that I'm a 'good guy'. I'm no ... 'good guy'. I guess I really can do sincere good, but all the good I've done in the past ... were just to suppress my doubts of myself. I don't want ... to be a 'bad guy'. I think I'll let my heart be in charge from now on. Who cares about being nice? I really should've listened to Sharon's advice and retaliate to people taking taking advantage of me next time onwards. I mean, I ain't a tool. I'm a person.

I think ... I'm going to split for now. I was really working on my draft for this year's Commonwealth Essay Competition ... then I felt like I really needed to vent my anger ... holding up too much isn't very good for health.

Taking Pride From Fear

I've been having repeated nightmares lately. They pose as useful alarm clocks though, if you see nightmares the other way round. The only thing worrying me this time is the fact that in all 3 nightmares a few days ago, I just narrowly escaped murderers. I'm not sure, but it could mean an omen. The first nightmare is pretty obscure by now ... I was stuck in a lift with a stranger which the dream-me recalls as a repeat murderer ... and also my maternal family was in the lift as well. The lift was large and spacious, and the walls were harshly bleached white, and there was dim lighting. Somehow there was a stack of buckets in the corner of the lift. My dream-me flashes back on reading a news article - the repeat murderer likes to instantly decapitate his victim's neck ... but he won't if the victim smeared his neck with sodium beforehand. Okay, for some reason, I was able to consciously command the dream-me to search the buckets for sodium (I don't even know what sodium is ... wait I think I remember) ... as with video game theory, "There's always a solution prepared ... just look for it." Then I see myself in a wooden lodge ... asking around ... just to found out that a whole ballroom of people have been enitrely decapitated single-handedly. Later I found a video tape containing one of the murder scenes. As the tape starts up, I woke up. I'm not sure how was it supposed to be scary as well ... I guess the reason has been buried deep inside my mind.

Next nightmare. I seem to be living in some western country. I have a bitchy (LGI.com supports liberal usage of words) older sister. Either she's my older sister, or she's a classmate/senior. Anyways, I was constantly bullied in the school I was in. Only when the end of the dream
draws near do things start getting really bad. It was after a nighttime party. Prom or birthday party, I have no idea. Anyways, I stumbled into my sister/classmate at a park nearby with one of her girlfriends. We talked a bit until my sister/classmate's boyfriend showed up, and we talked more. Suddenly, I spotted someone sporting a chainsaw running out of a nearby building. The boyfriend ran away. The girls and dream-me rushed past chainsaw-dude towards the building he came from (for whatever reason, I am clueless). I got in first and locked the door. Outside my sister/classmate banged on the door - then she got hacked with the chainsaw from the back. I thought I was safe inside. I turned away from the door just to see the chainsaw-dude inside, his free hand dragging the girlfriend. I think he might have brought her in through a side entrance or something. Anyways I woke up at that point. I did see the murderer clearly though. He had dreadlocks as his choice of pompadour, and he was kinda tanned. He had a bare upper torso with ragged white trousers. A bit lean but muscular. It was horribly scary, that dream.

The third dream. The most surreal. The dream kicked off with me among a group of my year's boys heading to some hotel via a Japanese-style rock garden. I see Ms Elaine and another woman ... then for no obvious reason at all, I passed out. I woke up in a mall. Again without reason, dream-me started browsing massage chairs. I think he saw something, and he immediately started off towards the escalators, where I can see some of my grade school teachers. I think ... the hotel might be in the upper floors of the mall. I've been to the Jakarta Ritz-Carlton, and it's situated right with the Pacific Place mall, so it seems highly plausible. The most reasonable situation I can think of that I held a reunion party as adult Wilson. That must be the case. But the dream-me was smaller than I am now. The scene was disrupted with a transition to the hotel halls ... carpetted lavishly in red and gold. I was trying to reach the party venue while fleeing from a white-haired youth. He seemed intent on killing me, whatever his motive was. We both shared a conversation like we are assassins who worked together ... perhaps I angered him in some way. We are both capable of 'rooming' (I made up the term) - creating rooms on bare walls. I created closets and all to hide ... but he was always capable of finding me. In the end I created a really large public toilet with a royal design. I hid in one of the stalls. I can hear him opening the door to my Room. Strangely, I was able to see him ... he was eyeing the contents of the Room. I predicted that he would start checking the stalls, but he didn't. He went away later ... and dream-me was still too terrified to move out. Later, White-Hair came to the Room again, and said, "I'll let you off this time." Or something else along that line, yeah. Dream broadcast ends. Oh wait, before it ended, I saw Ms Elaine looking annoyed at me, with her assistant-role-playing-woman beside her. Beats me who the latter was.

Dreams ... are severely bizarre. Certain nightmares are more bizarre than it is scary. Like last time, I was in school when everyone started becoming berserk and committing
mass suicide. There were lifts where the Music Room was supposed to be, and I managed to evacuate the school with Derrick and a few other people on a wooden transportation ... looked like a wheelbarrow with its size exaggerated. Cliffhanger ending, people. I never knew what befell the Dream counterparts of Wilson and Derrick. It was disturbing, at the very least. People were jumping down to the school garden head-first. Maybe it was a virus of some sort. Either that or the suicidals were on extreme doses of hallicinogen. I sometimes wish these things really do occur. I want that missing spark of life.
The pumping adrenaline. Life is too boring. Too normal. I'd even prefer the plain Normal-type Pokemons over normal life. Oh wait, at least my life isn't too normal. It's too normally hectic. I hope that was understandable. Lots of problems, my life. But I wish they weren't so soap opera-ish. But even if they aren't, they're still PROBLEMS. I want something EXCITING. And problems
have never came across me as exciting before. Ugh.

Exercise is going well! The other day I demanded a match in the midst of a really light drizzle for the extra terrain effect - raindrops that can dampen a shuttlecock's movement.Very fun. Street badminton was always fun. No rules. No restrictions. Just a wide road and a bumper
serving as the border. Play badminton however you like. My style is a quirky mix of dance (fast with serving and maneuvers), baseball (power serve), volleyball (low receives, spiking and smash-cancelling) and kendo (middle, power receives). Street badminton is the sports version of Audition Online's Crazy Freestyle mode, if you ask me. My flaw is that I never really consider the direction in which I receive the shuttlecock - constantly causing it to fall into the drain or onto a roof. After awhile I got fed up with the endless shuttlecock
casualties, so I invented something new should it go dead again. Of course, this new program makes use of my partner, Chai Ming Xi (from now onwards I'm dubbing him Mynci in my blog, after the Neopet of the same name. And yes, he has a Mynci himself in Neopets.com). He has ride around on his bike while I will have to chase him down and touch him thrice with my racket. It proves to be good exercise! Today I managed to sprint up to his bike and finally smacked  (gently) him thrice - my first victory against him in Bike Stryker (I named the sport). A supportive friend is very good! If I was studying in his school I'd be more than glad to participate in badminton (doubles) since we have good compatibility. I still prefer single battles, of course, but I feel less secure, especially if in front of many (haha).

Ah! I'm only one tankobon short of The Law Of Ueki Plus! Anyone has Vol. 5?

Anticonformity

This love ... is so intensely hot and burning. This love ... for Persona 4. Atlus USA sent it to my home when I was still in Jakarta. Oh well, I am playing it now at least. My first few comments were mainly how horrible a lot of the voice-acting are. Especially Chie's. The VA is Tracey Rooney I guess. When she said "Oh my god!" in Junes, I nearly said that line myself. Another thing, one of my fav characters, Ryotaro, sounded too young. Like Akihiko from P3. That won't do, seriously.

Anyways, I was on quite a hiatus, wasn't I? I enjoyed my break. A lot. While being hampered by people to update. So I guess it's inevitable. So just what! What in the world did Wilson Liew do all this time!?

In Jakarta:
- Shopping (50%)
- Movies (40%)
- Sightseeing (10%)
- Yes, I hardly had any time for games ... Actually, a bit.

In Jakarta (revised):
- Shopping (Books) (20%)
- Shopping (Games) (20%)
- Shopping (Clothes) (10%)
- Movies (30%)
- Sightseeing (10%)
- Reading (5%)
- Gaming (5%)

At Home:
- Gaming (80%)
- Badminton (15%)
- Reading (5%)

I hope you find my brief explanation adequate to reason my absence with. I also took a lot of photos while in Jakarta ... around 400 + by estimation. Of course, it would
be ludicrous for me to be posting all of them. And ... my computer can detect my phone. That's a major problem. As to make matters worse, my father isn't too fond of me using his.

The axis of my post is Dawn's tag. I think it was originally dubbed 'Boys Like Bimboes' by her. Okay. To begin with, I have not the faintest idea what a bimbo is. Besides hearing it being used from time to time and being in the lyrics of Aqua's Barbie Girl. So, I only hypothesized my own definition. As usual, since dictionaries make me feel lazy. I muse that bimboes are ... bimboes. Judging by the name, it's a type of female that is stupid, dumb, stupid, cheerful, stupid, happy-go-lucky, stupid, and narcissistic (/edit). Tossing the cheerful and happy-go-lucky parts aside, the very character is bona fide-ly stupid. As I prefer to be more revolutionary than conventional, my version of the tag will be like
a courtroom trial. In this case, I will play defense attorney, boys the defendants, Dawn the prosecutor, and her post the witness. Let's commence. (Note: Words in red are parts of the witness' testimony)

Crowd: *noise*

Judge Anonymous: Order! Order in the court! Ahem - On the defendant's side, we have Mr
Wilson 'ILOVEPERSONA' Liew, the attorney defending boy. On the prosecutor's side, we have here the notorious Ms Dawn 'ILOVETWILIGHT' Jerah. Ms Dawn, your opening statement, please.

Dawn: Greetings, I am the notorious - I mean, famous, Dawn Jerah, Perfect Prosecutor. Boys in general had been accused of liking bimboes, and I would hereby try my best to net them a guilty verdict!

Judge A: Very well. May you call in your first witness, please.

Dawn: My first and only witness is Ms Dawn's Post, aka Miss DP, otherwise spelled Ms Deepee.

*Deepee enters courtroom*

Deepee: Hello, everyone! I'm Deepee and I -

Dawn: No one asked you to blabber, witness. State your name and occupation, please.

Deepee: Um, the name's Deepee, and my job's an obnoxious blog post which could possibly become a future running gag. I am here to testify as a witness and also as the one who had accused boys of their crime.

Dawn: Uh, your testimony, if you may.

Deepee: Oh, yes 'mam!

- Deepee's Testimony: Boys Like Bimboes (And I Will Accuse Every Boy) -

Bla bla bla ..... (refer to original post at Dawn's blog, dated 4th December, 2008)
... That's all I have to say.

- End of testimony -

Judge A: Mmhmm ... very well, Mr Liew, you may proceed with your cross-examination.

Wilson: Affirmative. Now let's see ... Miss Deepee said, "
Why is it better if they are dumb? So the boys can feed their male ego. They can go all houlien, act cool just to feed their own self-esteem by proving themselves right (if they are really correct or not) to the girl. What a loser." I can point out one major contradiction here - neither the witness nor prosecution has proof ... that every boy feeds their 'male ego' that way! I ...

[Objection!]

Dawn: Th ... that ... well, hehe, hehehe, did you not realize, Mr Liew, that you yourself have no evidence that supports your claim that such a reserved group of boys exist!?

Wilson: Ack ...

Dawn: Let us move on. What do you have to say about the next line, "
I think by acting cute, girls are not only demeaning themselves but the men they are surrounded by as well"?

Wilson: Uh, Ms Jerah, I find that line of testimony irrelevant to our current case!

Dawn: Hmph, what right do you have to deem it irrelevant!? Let's hear what the judge has to say!

Judge A: It is true, Mr Liew, that every word of a witness' testimony should NEVER be taken lightly. Your cross-examination, please.

Wilson: ((What!? He can't possibly buy that!)) Err ... fine. Ms Deepee ... you said you THINK that by acting cute, girls are not only demeaning themselves but the men they are surrounded by as well? Well, you thought that. Actually, demeaning may happen ... if the aforementioned girls overdo it. It is even normal in Japanese culture, in which girls sometimes speak in third person to give a cute impression. There are people who find the very act of acting cute itself cute! I also don't see how extremely narcissistic girls can demean others along with themselves. I mean, it is them who are acting cute. Not the men.

Deepee: Well, instead of bothering you two to recite my lines, I'll just nicely repeat it again. After all, as the witness myself, I may be more accurate. My next line was, "
Men today deserve a lot more credit than that — I think I am right in saying that men appreciate an intelligent funny girl, someone they can have meaningful conversations with a lot more than a girl who 'sa jiaos' or whines or acts cute with nothing substantial to say."

[Hold It!]

Wilson: I mean to say that I agree. As a time-conscious person myself, I find it of no meaning to chit-chat with a whiny, narcissistic girl who babbles nonsense.

Boys: Um ... attorney?

Wilson: Relax, that line itself is in no way against our case. Instead, we're winning.

Dawn: Hmhmm ... you're losing points, Mr Liew.

[Objection!]

Wilson: Losing? My my, Ms Jerah ... do you not grasp the situation? My support in your witness' statement ... proved that boys are not keen of bimboes! And that you are hinting the very point that you accuse boys of preferring meaningless conversations over the opposite!

Dawn: ... Ah ... AHHH! You ... damn you ...

Crowd: *noise*

Judge A: Order! Order!!!

Deepee: Ahem ... "
I find it very ridiculous to base a relationship on the mere fact that 'oh i like you, you like me, let's get together'. In the end you don't have anything in common, you don't have anything to talk about, you don't share any interests. Then? What do you talk about?"

[Hold It!]

Wilson: That ... that's preposterous! Even stupid bimboes won't be stupid enough to base a relationship on that, of all things! People will not form a bond should they be not compatible with each other, and in this modern age, people may still have break-ups and divorces, but to match up together in the first place when they don't have a single thing for each other is incomprehensible! Thus proving that boys will not go for bimboes!

Dawn: ... Ngh ... No way ...

Deepee: Um ... "
For a girl to 'act cute' and/or act like a child just to get attention and be manja-ed is very degrading. I don't agree that all men appreciate an intelligent, funny girl as opposed to airheads. Oh okay, scratch that, I'm talking boys, not men."

[Hold It!]

Wilson: You serious? At most, one'd just see that as annoying. The part of acting like a child is actally one thing I am quite fond of ... they ACT like a child but who knows? They can be very mature inside. And one thing, you can't prove them as airheads.

[Objection!]

Dawn: I believe you said that bimboes are stupid not long ago?

Wilson: Stupid, in the sense of not the same class as the intelligent.

Dawn: Yeah, right.

Deepee:
... the punchline of the conversation is that the boys refer and distinguish girls from the size of their boobs. Very sickening and degrading.

[Objection!]

Wilson: I do not agree. I for one think that a woman's values are not scaled by their breasts' size. And how in the world is that related to boys liking bimboes?

Judge A: Ms Jerah ... your witness' testimony seems to have brought this whole case to an end. I hereby deem ... boys WHOARELIKEWILSON ..... N-O-T G-U-I-L-T-Y! That's all, the court is adjourned.

- End of trial -

To sum things up, I think boys these days, especially those I know, are not really into bimboes. Of course, I can't really ascertain that, but for one thing, I know I will not be into bimboes. I may be okay with a bimbo best friend, but maybe not a bimbo girlfriend. Just my opinion. I am back to my blog yes, however updates will not be as frequent as it was before the holidays.

If I can't be a writer, I can always work for law. Ha. I wonder if the pay's high.

The undersized text box says, "Haaaaaa *cough* peeeeeee *cough* buuuuuuuuuurf *cough* daeeeeeeeeee *cough*" ... I'm not sick, so no need to worry. I haven't playing RE4 though. I've been getting a few new games days. Anyway, I apologize for not being attend your party today. Once again, happy birthday!

We Close Our Eyes

As a tribute to my loyal regulars, I'm salvaging a miniscule amount of time to give a semi-update ... or, uh, more like a preview as to what I did during my vacation.

I went to the Taman Safari Indonesia. 2nd time there actually. Of course, the real post isn't this short. I just must inform you all, that when elephants pee, it's like a high pressure jet stream, and when they crap, the crap is golden brown and about 3/4 the size of my head. Aside from that, I also watched tons of movies while I'm here. Last night was 007: Quantum of Solace.
