I Slacked Off Much?
Don't I? Especially since I did not post even on days like Friday or Saturday. Well, on school days there's plenty of work, and during the weekends, I read A LOT of manga (online) (free) - namely Double Arts and JoJo's
Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. Double Arts is a shortlived series with really neat art and interesting story. Sadly it did not receive much popularity among shonen
Jump readers in Japan so the series was discontinued. One can describe the ending as
open-ended, or a cliffhanger if they are more negative about it. My favorite character is Elraine/Elle/Ellie. I
think she's really cute, and has a likeable personality. I really like Elle's type of a heroine - unlike those tsundere ice queen bitches or super
perky tomboys.
Stone Ocean is the 6th arc in the entire JJBA series. The series now has a total of 7 arcs, with the mangaka (Hirohiko Araki-sensei) working on the 7th currently, Steel Ball Run. The arcs are:
1st - Phantom Blood
2nd - Battle Tendency
3rd - Stardust Crusaders
4th - Diamond Is Unbreakable
5th - Golden Wind
6th - Stone Ocean
7th - Steel Ball Run
#1 - Stardust Crusaders
#2 - Steel Ball Run
#3 - Stone Ocean
#4 - Diamond Is Unbreakable
#5 - Golden Wind
#6 - Battle Tendency
#7 - Phantom Blood
much because there are really few links between SO and GW. I am currently resuming reading
DIU alongside SO (finished Double Arts already, and on a side-note, I also have finished 21st Century Boys).
After finishing DIU I plan to start reading GW since I already started playing the
game (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Ougon no Kaze) which is ... yes, in Japanese. They actually
thought about publishing it in English as well, however due to copyright problems and Araki not
intending to change the names of most Stands (which most were music references), so it was only released in Japan since copyright laws are pretty lax. I must complain that DIU scanlations
have pretty low quality ... ugh ... but I really have no other choice. Comics House in Malaysia is
pretty slow in releasing new JJBA tankobons (or more like I can't find them) ...
TotA!!! No, it's not a typo of the ... uh ... Dota, was it, Malaysian teens? TotA is the international
PS2 hit ... Tales of the Abyss. I used to not like it due to the really tough battle system and sole characters surviving boss fights. However, now I am as addicted to it as any other TotA player ...
I pretty much has more insight of how the battle system. The battle system is FR-LiMBS ...
short for Flex Range Linear Motion Battle System. I initially thought it wasn't much of an improvement from previous LiMBS, but I realized it really is something cool. No wonder Gaa
likes this game so much. Unlike her, I am not so addicted to Jade Curtiss though ... he may be
obnoxious, sarcastic and all (qualities of characters that I really like) but somehow I can't really
feel attached to him and as obsessed as I am with favorite characters from other games such as
P3's Ken Amada, P4's Kuma or Xenosaga's Jr. So I finally found my fav in TotA - Anise Tatlin.
What is more awesome than a really obnoxious, sarcastic, cute and witty little girl? Not to
mention I like to control her the most in battles - given her awesome versatility with her Artes.
She is also the only who can use Dark elemental Artes without the need of FOF (Field of Fonon)
Changes, and they are really awesome Fonic Artes - Negative Gate and Bloody Howling. Also,
she has a special accessory to dress her doll (Tokunaga) up as KOS-MOS from the Xenosaga trilogy! Comes with KOSy's personal Special Attack, X-BUSTER! I think I'm dying from fangasm. One last thing - I am NOT a pedo. I tend to prefer those child characters because they really are more awesome than adults.
I have been more active in reading my borrowed book, Tokyo Cancelled by Rana Dasgupta. It's
really enthralling, I must say. I will finish the book soon, since I am already at the 11th Story,
The Bargain in the Dungeon. Overall my fav is the 8th, The Doll. Even though I have yet to finish the book, Rana has already become one of my favorite authors alongside Jodi Picoult, Stephen King, Sophie King and Ellen Raskin. After Rana I just need one more fav male author to make it gender-equal! Gender-equal is always good ... no?
Since my last post I have also got demeritted for the first time. 10 merit points chucked off from my total (my homeroom teacher knows what). Oh well, as Wilson Liew's personal saying goes, "Merit points is just money for buying crimes at school." Anyway, 10 points for eating Fruit Mentos. The point here is, I am NOT like others who toss
sweet wrappers everywhere after eating, dammit. Oh well ,whatever.
Last night I tried out last year's PMR paper for Maths. I got a 96! So everyone, PMR standard is really low compared to our normals tests. No worries, you've all practically got an A in your grasp already.
This weekend I will go to the movies after replacement class with ShaSu (we will most likely
watch Accuracy of Death, even though I want to watch Mamma Mia!, which is a successful
musical in
the states. Added to the fact it has my fav actor, Pierce Brosnan in it (I still think Daniel Craig
shouldn't be 007. Nuggah.) ... and I am pretty impressed that Sharon actually suggest a JAPANESE movie.
She's always seemed to have the hots for Japanese stuff, you see, so it pretty much dumbfounded me. No matter, I'm ok with it.
So you must be wondering what happened to all the P4 stuff. I'm delaying it, see. Not like anyone in school
cares. Though there are those who do. Don't worry fellow gamers, I shall spoonfeed you
soon with your dose of hip n' retro Persona 4.
P. S. -es:
1. I may get to go travelling in November. Without my father. Iwish I can go travelling with
Daddy though (WL).
2. I added a dictionary on the left sidebar due to many complaints of my apparently god-level vocabulary. It's not, dammit. I don't even know what Dawn meant by frivolous. And William's got a couple of solid words which caught me off-guard.
3. I will also use Small font size instead of Smallest due to complaints. I wish everyone else too
has perfect eyesight ...
4. So isn't my blog user-friendly?
Ne, oyasumi nasai.
